Okay… so you’d like to know more about my forensic novels.
After writing six books about the overweight, cerebral, complicated New Orleans Medical Examiner, Andy Broussard, and his sidekick, Kit Franklyn, I lost touch with them and the rest of the gang while I was writing medical thrillers. I expect you can think of people too, who at one time played a major role in your life and then weren’t there anymore… not dead… just both of you going about your business, not thinking of each other.
And wouldn’t you know it, during my hiatus from writing about New Orleans and my friends there, the publisher of those books let them go out of print. Andy and Kit certainly didn’t deserve such treatment. So I was elated when Astor+Blue came along and wanted to reissue the six out-of-print books, along with BAD KARMA IN THE BIG EASY, a novel never before seen anywhere. Now Andy and Kit’s adventures will once again be available for another generation of readers. And for you long-time fans, you can get reacquainted with your old friends through BAD KARMA.
But a word for you new readers before we begin. In the reissued books you may notice some things that seem out-of-date. For example, very few cell phones are in evidence. I thought about modernizing those parts, but that wouldn’t be right. The stories should remain as written originally because that’s the way events actually happened. I shouldn’t be altering them now. Since the characters change and grow from book to book and events in one book influence the next, the best way to read the series is in the order listed at the right, the sequence in which they were originally published.
